  • My beautiful boy!

My son is 24 days old now. That's 24 times that the love in my heart has doubled. I never knew a person could be so happy. Being a mommy is the best thing that ever happened to me!

Because of this new chapter in my life, I've decided to stop using this blog. Instead, I will be blogging HERE. There's a lot of history in this old Xanga, and it's been a good run, but it's time for me to leave a lot of that old stuff behind and start over. The new me, the Mommy me, has a different view of this world and everything in it, and my new blog is meant to reflect that.

To all my friends and subscribers, I'd love to hear from you on my new blog. I know I've been gone a while, but now that our internet is up and running I'll be online much more often. Getting back in touch with you all is something I really look forward to. So drop by and let's catch up!

  • Thanks!

Hey everybody, I just wanted to say thank you to everybody who's commented and sent me messages of congratulations. Some wonderful news: James and I are getting internet of our own soon, so I'll be able to get my blog going again! Hooray! I can't wait to catch up with everybody!

  • Welcome to the World!

Our son was born at 9am on Wednesday, May 20. He was 22 inches long, and weighed 9 lbs and 1 oz. His name is James Lander Emerson Jeffryes, and I have never loved anyone or anything so much as I love this 9 pounds of little person. He can't talk, walk, feed himself, or clean himself. You might say he's totally useless. But he brings meaning to my life I could never have imagined. From this day forward, I live and breathe for Lander, I would kill or die or starve for him. I would sell everything I own and live in a tent for his sake, and I will work every day of my life to make sure that he has the best life he could possibly have.

I love my son. Our son. He is the center of my recently readjusted universe.

  • Induction?!

I am two days overdue to have this baby, so we went to the doctor yesterday and did another sonogram. To our surprise, "little" baby Jeffryes is MASSIVE! His head measured about 10.2 centimetres and his weight is estimated to be about 8lbs 12 oz. Therefore, it is the opinion of two doctors, my mother, and myself that this baby has got to come out. Tonight I am going to the hospital to start the process, and with any luck we'll be having this baby by tomorrow morning.

Nervousness and Happiness are having an epic battle in the pit of my stomach. Hopefully I don't throw up on anybody today. I have a feeling that this is a very real risk.

Wish me luck! My mother is visiting and she brought a working computer with her, so if I'm not too busy I'll update everybody about Jr. when we get home from the hospital!

  • R.I.P. Isildur "Izzy" Jeffryes

    066 059 Izzy! 001 Izzy! 003 Feb25-April12 011

Laid to rest March 2nd, 2010. Our beloved friend Izzy left us after a brief, but brave battle with a tumor.  He will be remembered as wonderful friend, a super curious carpet shark, and an adorable critter.  Countless times his silly shenanigans and mischevious misadventures delighted our hearts and turned our frowns upside down.  We're sure that now he's in a bigger, better place strewn with plastic bags, teddy bears, and little shiny things. Jesus, please give him a raisin every day, and don't be mad if he pees on your carpet sometimes or ninjas his way into places he's not supposed to go. We love you Izzy, we always will. You filled a place in our hearts and homes that no other animal ever could. You will scamper in our memories forever. -James and Elizabeth (aka Daddy and Mommy)

About Me

  • I'm on my seemingly neverending quest for a True Badge. So far, along the way, I've met body-builders, fellow ferret owners, people of every race, amateur song-writers, bloggers-by-trade, peons, and many more. Some days I'm funny, some days I'm sad, and somedays I'm down-right crazy. Nobody really seems able to figure me out, which is ok because I have trouble with that same issue. This blog is about me, about my world, about what I find interesting/funny/outrageous/awesome! My life isn't overly dramatic, but I have my crazy days like everybody else. Come see what I'm about! Also, I was recently told: "For somebody so sad you tend to cheer people up!" You're welcome?
